A Dance Performance in Three Acts"
In " The Garden", a contemporary dance and fashion performance, three acts unfold like chapters of a mystical journey, drawing the audience into an ethereal realm beyond the grasp of the tangible world. Each act embodies a state of mind where the boundaries between humans and nature blur, inviting reflection on a delicate balance between the earthly and the otherworldly, which we often neglect in modern life.
The first act " Swan At Dawn" reimagines the elegance of the ballet *Swan Lake* with avant-garde fashion, blending classical silhouettes with modern/ industrial aesthetics, referencing the eternal dance between good and evil, light and shadow. Inspired by the white and black swan archetypes, the choreography weaves sharp, angular movements with fluid, graceful gestures, embodying the tension and harmony of opposites. As the performance unfolds, these two forces collide and intertwine, revealing the complexity of human nature, where purity and darkness coexist. In the final moments, the collapse of opposing bodies suggests that duality is not a battle, but a balance, a delicate fusion of contrasts.
In the second act, "Whispers of Dusk", as the sun sets and the night unfolds, this performance act emerges as a bold embrace of darkness and the unseen. Transporting the refined, hierarchical elements of classical ballet into the raw, vibrant world of underground city lights, the choreography pulses with the energy of the vulgar and the unrestrained. The soundtrack intensifies—growing louder, faster—symbolizing the awakening of the night’s spirits and the liberation that comes when darkness overtakes light. The dancers embody the freedom and rebellion of the nocturnal, celebrating a space where boundaries blur, and the sacred and profane collide in electrifying harmony.
In the final act, titled "Crepuscule", the performance delves into the intangible, euphoric space between delirium and lucidity. This ephemeral moment shrouded in fog and weariness, captures a state of mind akin to the disorienting highs of ecstasy. After the dusk blurred into darkness, and the sun is about to shine, the brightness of the end of the night becomes a canvas for ultimate self-liberation. Through a mesmerizing fusion of dance and light, "Crepuscule" explores the delicate, transformative freedom found in that brief, liminal space—a poetic celebration of the profound, often elusive, freedom that emerges from the end of a cycle/ritual, and the night succumbs to a new day.

**Performance: "The Dressing Room"**
While staging the literal act of dressing, in our days considered mundane, this performance goes back to periods in which dressing was a social/ public act, where monarchs were dressed before and by the court as a social ceremony. Now reimagined as an intimate exploration of power, vulnerability, and public gaze. The performers, embodying a contemporary figure of status, stands on a raised platform, stripped bare. Stark lighting reveals the texture of the skin, capturing every subtle movement.
Dressed in garments blending 16th-19th century attire with industrial and street style elements, each meticulously crafted item is placed on the performer with reverence. As layers of fabric transform the body from exposed fragility to regal grandeur, the audience witnesses the shift from human vulnerability to a public persona. Neither is less exposed to judgment and interpretation.
This ritualized dressing becomes an act of shared intimacy, revealing the private construction of identity. Close-up projections of skin and fabric enhance the cinematic feel, while a shifting soundtrack emphasizes the sensory experience. *"The Dressing Room"* elevates the act of dressing into a meditation on intimacy, spectacle, and transformation.

the bedroom
“"The Bedroom" presents a performer adorned in a voluminous historical gown, a rigid corset, and BDSM-inspired attire, calmly chained to a bed. The performer, though physically restrained, radiates a profound sense of peace, fully at home in the intimate sanctuary of the bedroom. Here, the bedroom is a cocoon for self-exploration and transformation—a space where desire and inner truths unfold without the weight of external judgment.
Rather than struggle against the chains, the performer embraces them as symbols of the paradox between freedom and confinement. These restraints reflect the invisible limits of societal norms and stereotypes, yet provoke no resistance. Instead, the performer reflects on and embodies these tensions, living through the contradictions of vulnerability and power, submission and autonomy. The bed becomes a sacred site for questioning and inhabiting the full complexity of the self, where even captivity allows for a form of liberation.
In stillness, "The Bedroom"delves into the layered reality of private spaces. Despite their physical boundaries, these spaces nurture the soul’s most secret desires and fantasies. The performance challenges the notion of constraint, suggesting that true intimacy and self-realization often arise not in rebellion, but in the quiet acceptance of life's dualities—where the freedom to be fully oneself exists within the walls we build for protection and within the chains we quietly accept.”

“Speculative Meta-Bodies offered a sensorial journey through a live art installation, reimagining mundane experiences within a new and dystopian framework. Three scenes, blending indoor and outdoor spaces, unfolded: Stuck in the office,A walk, and Night drive. Performers, acting robotic, cyclically repeated movements until prompted to switch stations, adapting their actions to each new environment. This piece prompted reflection on themes of individualism, the relentless pursuit of novelty in the digital era, social constructs, and the conflict between personal identity and professional roles.”

In this captivating art piece, a juxtaposition emerges between the solidity of heavy machinery and the fluidity of organic life. Resembling a sturdy safe, the heavy hardware structure appears to struggle against the presence of an unpredictable and lively fluid. As if attempting to contain it, the mechanical body strains against the fluid escape, its joints and parts unable to fully restrain its movement. The tension between the rigid, industrial form and the dynamic, flow ing substance evokes a profound exploration of the relationship between man-made constructs and the forces of nature, inviting viewers to contemplate themes of control, technology fragility, and the inherent conflict between order and chaos.

Nordic Fashion Now: Knitwear and Print featured emerging Nordic fashion designers who create radical and experimental knitwear and print. They have all graduated from Nordic design schools in recent years. Twelve projects by fifteen selected designers will be on display.
The exhibition featured twelve installations, displayed as creative universes that span garments, research, process, inspiration, art works, portfolios and films. Through both hand and machine, the designers integrate upcycling, recycling and waste materials into their work, and the knitted shapes and new print techniques on display are developed in response to craft traditions and current societal issues.
The exhibition was curated by Ane Lynge-Jorlen, director of the organization Alpha, and was part of a Nordic collaboration with fashion curator Lynge-Jorlen/Alpha, the National Museum in Oslo, EMMA – Espoo museum of Modern Art in Espoo, and Copenhagen Contemporary.

“The piece explores the metaphorical journey of gender transition paralleled with the dynamic evolution of one’s self-perception, also influenced by social media. Just as individuals navigate the complexities of their identity over time, the interface of this platform transforms, shaping our experiences and sense of belonging both individually but also as a group. Moreover, the piece explores the fluidity of self-discovery through a narrative that blurs the lines between personal understanding and growth, but also the ever-changing landscape of their digital presence, creating a thought-provoking experience at the intersection of identity, time, and technology.”

“This was a collection I developed to reflect upon the intimate relationship we all have with our garments. Even those who think they don’t. And subconsenquely on how they make as belong or not fit in social groups.
It was an investigation through different methods of garment construction. Playing wih iconic pieces like the trench coat, the suit, and the t-shirt by deconstructing and layering them as a form to play with the symbolism and effects that a mixcultural society has in the yonger generations. Therefore, to explore the meaning and deep relationship between Fabric, personality, and skin. Seeing garments as the skin we choose to live in.
The overall aesthetics of the garments and accessories follow a contemporary mixigenated urban/street lifestyle. A diologue with the youth who are blooming, outside the cultural/social borders.”

When I started reading and studying Balenciaga’s work, I felt an immediate connection to his perspective on design and fashion. Even at that time, and for many years, Cristobal Balenciaga didn’t only make beautiful designs but he actually challenged the way people see fashion. He understood and transformed the technique. The Designer had an exceptional sensibility to the crafts, and always had the body and human being as the center of his work.
Therefore, for this project, I wanted to work with objects and garments, contrasting the idea of art, product design, and fashion. Bringing all of this together and in connection to the human body.
I have divided the outfit into 2 different parts: The body x The object.
THE BODY (garment)
“ The body” resembles the exploration and deconstruction of the main idea of clothes making. Since I’ve made the replica of the famous Balloon Dress, I decided to deconstruct that garment inside of the human body, breaking its silhouette and making the fabric and volume of the dress relate to the body and space in a new way. I chose to do that as an allusion to the close contact the Spanish designer had with the making of his garments, and the relation of each garment with its wearer.
THE OBJECT (sculpture)
With “the object” I wanted to honor the most traditional techniques of garment making. I wish that the piece will resemble the memory of Balenciaga’s work. His passion for crafts. The imprint of the designer in fashion history.
The idea that something/someone was there, and even though it isn’t there anymore, it left its marks. Reflecting upon the impact of fashion in culture and is wear.
To achieve that effect, I decided to make fabric and clay sculptures that would after be vacuumed and transformed into translucent or metalic three-dimensional plates.
Capsule collection made with 100% organic materials (copenhagen - DK)
Art Direction/ Fashion: Serena Coelho
“0001” was the first collection of my eponymous brand.
Already at the age of 15, I knew that if I am going to make garments for an audience, I would make them plural. In 2017, when I had the opportunity to develop this collection, my main objective was to create a channel I could communicate with multiple people, people who do not always relate to each other. In my research process, I studied different bodies, shapes, and worked with different construction techniques so I could better dress these dynamic bodies. I hoped to unify people while still respecting their individuality, respecting that we are equal in our differences.
The pieces were made to be worn in multiple ways, prolonging their usage. The overall aesthetics and silhouette flirt with subculture communities’ expressions. For example gender fluidity in Japan and in Denmark. Western and Eastern functional minimalism
